Jesus sees a different future than the one to which the wilderness leads. He sees the kingdom of God in which the gospel is preached to the poor, the brokenhearted are healed, prisoners are set free to love God and to love all that God has created, the blind are given sight to see the wonders and the woes of God’s amazing creation.
